Cleaning Butlers of Sarasota News - October 16, 2009 - Sarasota, FL - AmericanTowns.com

March 05, 2013

LAKEWOOD RANCH — Annual sales are up nearly 50% for the second year in a row at Cleaning Butlers of Sarasota, a local franchise-based business founded in 2009.

Sales in 2012, says the firm in a release, were up 49% over 2011, from $1.1 million to $1.64 million. Revenues rose 47% in 2011 over 2010, when it had $750,000 in sales.

Lakewood Ranch-based entrepreneur Lynne Dowd founded Cleaning Butlers in 2009. She previously ran operations for Jan-Pro Cleaning Systems’ offices in Augusta, Ga., and Orlando. For the Sarasota-Bradenton region, though, Dowd sought to build a business in small-scale franchising, where the accounts are spread among independent
business owners/franchisees.

The franchisees hire their own employees, crews that work under the Cleaning Butlers flag. Dowd and her in-house staff of four employees market the business, find the clients and do the billing and scheduling. Dowd then divvies up work among the franchisees. The philosophy, according to the release, “is not to sell franchises to just anyone, but be selective in choosing potential franchise owners who understand that they are in business for themselves, but not by themselves.”

Cleaning Butlers projects more sales growth in 2013. The firm, the release states, also seeks new franchisees for regions in south Sarasota County, including Venice, North Port and Nokomis. The firm is also looking for potential franchise owners who specialize in floor care, carpet cleaning and ceramic tile restoration. Franchise fees range from $2,500 to $42,000.

Cleaning Butlers of Sarasota, a commercial and residential cleaning company announced that sales are predicted to exceed $1.5 million in 2012. The franchised based company continues to capture market share despite not bidding on price, but pricing their service on clients scope and the ability to complete the tasks. The company vows not to under bid, as it only affects the Cleaning Butlers name, franchise owner and reputation in the market. “There are still the vast majority of clients that prefer a good cleaning service priced competitively, rather than a below average cleaning service that is cheap,” states Lynne Dowd, President.

Cleaning Butlers currently has 16 franchise owners and intends to add a few additional this year that specialize in residential cleaning. We are looking for exceptional business minded individuals that desire to own their own business, but want the support of a franchise system. They service Sarasota and Manatee Counties. Cleaning Butlers of Sarasota Refuses to Participate in the Recession – Currently Cleaning Over 6 Million sq. ft Per Month!

On January 12, 2011, in Sarasota County, Services, by Press Release
Cleaning Butlers of Sarasota a local, franchise based company has captured a massive amount of the market share in 2010.  Most “mom and pop” cleaning companies have disappeared stated Lynne Dowd. “Once the recession hit, the smaller companies couldn’t afford the overhead such as liability insurance, worker’s compensation insurance and the janitorial bond required to secure the larger facilities.”

“We treat our franchise owners with respect, the respect they deserve as business owners and our in-house employees as family; this has created little to no turnover.”  “We still have the first cleaner, first sales representative and first franchise owner we have since opening and since being able to sell franchises.”

The processes of Cleaning Butler’s color coded microfiber cleaning cloths, to help prevent cross-contamination, the hospital grade disinfectants, the 3-4 stage vacuums, the comprehensive scope of work, the microfiber mop system and our detailed training, puts us a huge step above the competition.  If interested in learning more about Cleaning Butlers franchise opportunities or receiving a complimentary price comparison for your facility or home, you may contact them at www.cleaningbutlers.com or 941-907-3200.

Cleaning Butlers is not letting the economy hinder their growth and signs another 10 clients in August!

On September 14, 2010, in Sarasota County:

Although economists have been expecting growth to slow in the second half of this year as government stimulus spending dries up, government slash outlays, and companies finish restocking lean inventories, we continue to capture market share and currently clean over 4.75 million square foot per month of office and residential facilities. Most of the contracts are “new” business secured in the last 10 months.

Our client retention has been extremely high due to our Operations Manager, Robert Howard and his persistent follows up with clients needs or concerns and our Sales Representative Jennifer Falco who understands and consults with the client before we clean, to understand their requirements. “We all work as a team,”  there is no “i” in team, states Lynne Dowd.

Cleaning Butlers of Sarasota is a franchised based company located in Lakewood Ranch and has sold 10 franchises in the past 10 months.  “We are not looking for 100 franchisees with a few accounts each, we’ve based our company on selecting approximately 25 – 30 solid franchise owners for our market, this will allow them to have plenty of business for their business to be full time.” proudly states Lynne Dowd, President. You may visit their website at www.cleaningbutlers.com or call 941-907-3200 for information on becoming a franchise owner.

Entrepreneurship  Sarasota

Cleanliness is one established means to health and comfort, and in the case of Cleaning Butlers of Sarasota it's also a possible means to wealth. Or at least a steady income. Lynne Dowd started Cleaning Butlers of Sarasota last May after working for another cleaning company. Cleaning Butlers serves a variety of clients including medical offices, factories, auto dealerships and day care centers as well as homes in Sarasota and Manatee counties. Business has been good enough that Cleaning Butlers is offering opportunities to other people who want to clean up financially by becoming a franchise owner. Dowd emphasizes that prospective franchisees need to commit more than money to the endeavor. "We're looking for someone who wants to grow a business and be their own boss, is self motivated and customer-service oriented. If someone is just looking for a job, that's not really what we're looking for," she says. Cleaning Butlers of Sarasota provides customers options that ensure not only satisfaction that their spaces are clean and tidy, but also environmentally friendly if they wish. "We offer the clients a choice, as to whether they'd like us to use the green chemicals, sustainable chemicals or use the regular chemicals," she says. Cleaning Butlers uses four-stage HEPA vacuum cleaners to minimize dust and color-coded cleaning equipment to avoid cross-contamination between different types of surfaces and environments.

Franchise fees are based on annual gross revenue and a minimum down payment of $800 plus equipment costs can enable someone to begin building their business. Cleaning Butlers' website lists unit franchise fees ranging from $2,500 to $42,000. They provides business, cleaning and safety training as well as accounting and administrative support.

Cleaning Butlers of Sarasota Continues to Grow

Here we grow again! Since Cleaning Butlers of Sarasota launched its unit residential and commercial cleaning franchises for Sarasota & Manatee County, they sold 7 franchises. “Most of these franchisees were laid off employees, that we were able to put back into the workforce while fulfilling their dream of opening their own business,” comments Lynne Dowd, President of Cleaning Butlers of Sarasota. “We still have $290,000 in annual gross revenue contracts to be assigned to new franchisees that we currently service in house.” Cleaning Butler’s currently services 121 facilities throughout Sarasota & Manatee Counties of which they just contracted one of the tallest office buildings in downtown Bradenton and one of the largest law firms in downtown Sarasota. While the majority of the companies are contemplating a lay off, Cleaning Butlers is growing at an average of 10 new regularly serviced clients per month. “We don’t sell on price, we sell on why we are better, and we deliver,” comments Lynne Dowd. Cleaning Butlers of Sarasota is located in Lakewood Ranch and offers both residential and commercial cleaning, all of their employees and franchise owner’s and their employees are background checked, bonded and insured with worker’s compensation insurance and liability insurance. Their website is www.cleaningbutlers.com. Their telephone number is 941-907-3200.

Sarasota, FL Despite the worst economy this county has seen since the 1930’s, Cleaning Butlers of Sarasota – a newly formed, but not new to the commercial and residential cleaning industry- has secured 80 new accounts in 4 months and have created 20 new jobs locally. Lynne Dowd, President of Cleaning Butlers gives credit to her dedicated and professional Account Executives Jennifer Falco and Lori Herman, her behind the scene business development team and her experienced professional cleaners. “Jennifer and Lori work as a team, but most importantly, understand the client’s goals to maintain a clean and healthy facility.” “Bidding is the first most important part in commercial and residential cleaning, if we underbid we can’t perform the complete scope of work, while others are giving away free services to land the accounts, we’re selling our services of why we are better,” states Lynne Dowd.

Cleaning Butlers just released its Franchise Disclosure Document and now will be selling unit franchises in the Sarasota and Manatee markets and plans on expanding to other markets throughout the state by fall of 2010. “We hope to create 20-30 more jobs locally by the first quarter of 2010 as our franchise owner’s expand and take on other buildings to service, since it is such a low investment of only $800 down on the franchise purchase, it will attract so many that are out of work, but want job stability by owning their own business” comments Lynne Dowd. Cleaning Butler’s takes cleaning with green very seriously, they have partnered up with a local janitorial supplier to use Sustainable and Green Seal products. They also email invoices to save on paper waste. Their website is www.cleaningbutlers.com and local phone number is 941-907-3200, they are located in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.
